Valentines from the Heart

One morning in February, Katie walked into her classroom. She saw her morning assignment on the front board. It said, "Create a valentine for someone special." Katie thought that should be easy. She had a lot of special people in her life. Just then Katie remembered someone who could really use a valentine wish. Eli was Katie's cousin. He was just about the same age as Katie, just a few weeks older. He was very sick. He was in the hospital. Katie could not visit Eli in the hospital, so she sent pictures she made or letters that she wrote. Katie found some construction paper and began to make the biggest and best valentine that she could. Katie's friend Jill noticed her valentine. She asked who it was for. Katie told Jill about Eli. Jill then decided to make a valentine for Eli, too. Ryan saw Jill's card and asked who she was giving it to. Jill told him about Eli. Ryan decided to make a card for Eli, .....
