What Are Clouds?

Look up at the sky. It is likely that you will see at least one cloud. Have you ever wondered what clouds are made of?

Clouds are made of millions of tiny drops of water. The drops are so small that they are lighter than air. They can float in the air. How did water drops get into the air?

Water on Earth evaporates. This means that liquid water changes its form. Liquid water changes to a gas. It becomes part of the air. It is invisible. We can't see it. Water as a gas is called water vapor.
