Turkeys are big birds. Wild turkeys live in the woods. They can fly and run very fast. They can't fly or run very far. Wild turkeys are native to North America. This is their home. Wild turkeys were here when the first settlers came. Male turkeys have brighter colors than females do. Wild turkeys roost in trees at night. Male turkeys are called toms. Females are smaller than males. The females' feathers are mostly brown, gray, or black. Hens make nests under bushes. They lay one egg each day for about two weeks. The hen sits on the eggs .....
