Diplodocus

Diplodocus (dih-PLOD-uh-kus) was a plant-eating dinosaur. It lived from about 155 to 145 million years ago in the Jurassic period. This dinosaur walked on four legs. From the tip of its nose to the tip of its tail, it was as long as two school buses put together - about 90 feet long. Its head was small. Its brain was only the size of a potato! It had a very long neck. It had a very, very long tail. The long, whip-like tail was used to defend Diplodocus from predators. The long tail also helped to balance the front end of its body. Its teeth were long and straight like the teeth of a rake. Some scientists think that Diplodocus ate by chomping down on the branch of a tree or a fern. Then it would pull the branch .....
