The Biggest Hamburger You Can Buy

By Kathleen W. Redman
1     What is the most popular food in America? Some say it's the hamburger. It's a simple and quick sandwich. The two most important parts are bread and ground beef. People dress it different ways. Some people like cheese. Some people put vegetables like lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on their burgers. Ketchup and mustard are common on hamburgers.

2     The history of hamburgers is confusing. They are more than one hundred years old. They were invented in America. So who invented the hamburger? It's hard to say.

3     Some people say a man in Texas invented it. Others say two brothers from Ohio invented the hamburger. Still others say it was a man in Connecticut or a man in Oklahoma.
