1 Canada is one of the Commonwealth countries. Do you know what that means? The Commonwealth is an organization of nations that share similar values and goals. Almost all of the members of the Commonwealth are former British colonies, but some have recently been admitted that have never been under British rule.
2 It all began with the British Empire. The British established colonies all over the world. During the reign of Queen Victoria, the empire reached its apex. The colonies were supported by the British navy, which ruled the seas.
