Hot Ideas for Candle Safety
By Colleen Messina
1 Whoosh! You blow out the candles on your birthday cake. You make a wish. You hope that it comes true! Candles and wishes should be a part of every birthday party.
2 Candles are fun, but it is important to be careful with them, too. National Fire Prevention Week takes place during the week in which October 9 falls. The National Fire Protection Association's special wish is for everyone to use candles safely.
3 Everyone loves candles. Some candles are made from beeswax. In the Middle Ages, the Catholic Church only used beeswax candles. Candles made from tallow were smoky and nasty.
