Happy Presidents' Day

1     Each third Monday of February, America has Presidents' Day. This day honors our first president, George Washington. We also remember our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. Both of their birthdays were in February. George Washington's birthday was February 22, and Abraham Lincoln's was February 12. The holiday is actually called "Washington's Birthday," but some people call it Presidents' Day to also honor Lincoln. Many Americans simply enjoy an extra day off. That is because government offices, post offices, schools, and some businesses close.
 
2     Around this holiday, you may study George Washington or Abraham Lincoln with your teacher. You may also study about other presidents as well. We have had over 40 presidents in the United States. If you choose to study others, there are many to choose from! You may select John F. .....
