He Was a Real Einstein

Have you ever heard anyone referred to as an Einstein? Calling someone an Einstein means that he or she is really intelligent. It is the last name of a man considered by many to be the most intelligent man who ever lived. His name was Albert Einstein. Would it surprise you to find out that Albert Einstein had trouble in school? He even failed some of his courses. He was asked to attend another school because the leaders of the school thought he wasn't smart enough to be in their school. How can that be?

Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879. His parents lived in Ulm, Germany, at the time. Albert's father was a businessman. He and his family owned a company that manufactured electrical parts.

Albert showed that he had special talents very early in his life. By the time he was five years old, he was playing the violin. By the time he was seven, he could do math problems older children couldn't do. Albert's family moved to Munich, Germany, when he was just a year old. That is where he began his schooling.
