Marisa's Decision

Youth Against Violence Day

Reading Comprehension for May 18

When the news reached Marisa's ears, she hurried through the crowded halls, looking for Enrique. She found her brother at his locker. His good friend, Alex, was griping about his math test score. "Ricky," she said, grasping Enrique's arm, "I heard that you and Mario are going to fight each other after school. Is that true?"

Ricky frowned and pulled his arm out of her grasp. "Yeah, it's true. He's got it coming to him."

"Why?" Marisa asked anxiously, reaching for his arm again. "Why are you doing it?"
