Visiting the Smokies
By Kathleen W. Redman
1 It was the last day of school, and Hannah and her classmates were excited. They were going to be on summer vacation for three months! Hannah's teacher had one final assignment. The students had to stand up and tell what they were going to do that summer.
2 Hannah's classmates were all doing different things. Some were going to amusement parks. Some were going to the beach. One classmate was traveling to England! Hannah announced that she was going to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
3 The next day, Hannah's family packed their car and traveled all day to a campground in North Carolina. There were many other campers there. They had all come to visit the park. Hannah couldn't wait to see what was in the park. Her dad said there were many plants and animals there.
