Funny Lady

What was a girl to do? She was a class clown in elementary school. Whatever thought popped into her head came out of her mouth. She often got sent to the principal's office. She talked too much. She loved to read comic books. She became an author, of course.


Barbara Tidswell was born on April 21, 1947. She was born in New Jersey. She grew up in a small town. When she was young, she did not like to read. She did not like to write. She liked to be funny. She said she found herself quite funny. That often got her in trouble. Barbara started to like reading when she was in high school. Then her feelings changed about writing. She liked it, too.


Barbara went to college. She thought she wanted to be a teacher. She wanted to add humor to boring history classes. She found that she did not like being a teacher.
