How Did You Know That?

Nika loves going to work with her father. Her father, Tom Jefferson, is a newspaper reporter. He works at a big newspaper office with many other reporters.

Asking questions and finding answers is a part of Mr. Jefferson's job. He has to ask questions to learn about many different things. Then he can explain them to his readers.

Nika's father spends a lot of time on the phone. He talks to people in offices, in restaurants, and at home. He asks questions any place he can. He writes down the answers to the questions and then asks more questions. Some people will answer the questions, and others will not. Sometimes people want to hide things from reporters.
