Rag Rug, Red Room

Elizabeth loved going to the lake house. Her grandparents built it about 10 years ago. She and her brother and two sisters went there several weekends each year. Her aunts, uncles, and cousins often came, too. Elizabeth especially loved the weekends when the whole family stayed there. Grandma and Grandpa made sure there were enough bedrooms for everyone to share the house but have their own space.

Elizabeth particularly liked the "red room," as she called it. On the floor was a rag rug that had been in the family for years. It was unique and colorful. The walls in the room were a burgundy shade. It made the room warm and welcoming. That is the room Elizabeth chose most often to sleep in.

One day, as Elizabeth was waking up, Grandma brought her a cup of hot cocoa. What a treat to have that in bed!

"How are you this morning, sweetie?" Grandma asked.
